Terms of Service
Last updated: March 27, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Vector Expense ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Vector Expense is a privacy-first credit card statement parser that extracts transaction data from PDF statements and provides spending insights. The App processes your documents, categorizes transactions, and presents analytics - all with a focus on keeping your data private and under your control.
3. User Responsibilities
- Document Ownership: You represent that you have the legal right to upload and process any documents you submit to Vector Expense. You must only upload your own credit card statements or statements you are authorized to access.
- Accurate Use: You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of parsed transaction data. Vector Expense uses AI and pattern matching to extract data, which may occasionally produce errors. The App is a tool for convenience, not a certified financial record.
- Lawful Use: You agree to use Vector Expense only for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Free Trial
New users receive a free trial with the following allowances:
- 15 statement parses within a 15-day window
- No credit card required to start
- Full access to all features including AI-powered parsing, 12 spending categories, multi-card management, and analytics
- Works with any bank that issues a PDF statement across INR, USD, EUR, and GBP
The trial expires when either the 15-day window or the 15-parse limit is reached, whichever comes first. Trial state is persisted securely on-device to survive reinstalls. We reserve the right to modify trial limits with reasonable notice.
5. Free Features
The following features are available to all users at no cost, regardless of subscription status:
- Manual transaction entry with AI categorization
- Demo mode with 24 sample transactions for exploring analytics
- Full offline access to previously parsed data
- Spending charts, category breakdowns, and merchant analysis
- CSV export and AES-encrypted local backups
6. Pro Subscription
Vector Expense offers an auto-renewable Pro subscription with two billing options:
- Monthly: $3/month - 4 statement parses per month
- Yearly: $24/year ($2/month) - 4 statement parses per month, save 33%
- Subscription Allowance: Pro subscribers receive 4 statement parses per rolling 30-day billing cycle. The allowance resets automatically based on your subscription start date.
- Payment: Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your app store account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
- Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified in advance and given the option to cancel before new pricing takes effect.
7. Pay-As-You-Go Credits
As an alternative to a subscription, you may purchase statement parse credits as one-time in-app purchases:
- 30 parses for $10 (~$0.33 per parse)
- 70 parses for $20 (~$0.29 per parse)
- No Expiry: Purchased credits do not expire and remain available until used.
- Consumption Order: When you parse a statement, the system consumes from trial allowance first, then subscription allowance, then credit balance.
- Non-Refundable: Credit purchases are non-refundable once consumed. Unused credits are persisted across reinstalls for authenticated users.
8. Apple App Store Terms
If you download Vector Expense from the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA). You can review the Apple Standard EULA at: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA shall take precedence for App Store purchases and subscriptions.
9. Intellectual Property
Vector Expense, its logo, design, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of the Vector Expense team. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Vector Expense is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that parsing results will be 100% accurate. AI and regex-based parsing are inherently probabilistic and may produce incorrect results.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vector Expense and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
You acknowledge that Vector Expense is a parsing and visualization tool and should not be used as the sole basis for financial decisions. Always verify important financial information with your bank or financial institution.
12. Data & Privacy
Your use of Vector Expense is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details how we handle (and do not store) your data. By using Vector Expense, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Vector Expense's parsing API for any user who violates these terms or abuses the service, including but not limited to exceeding rate limits, automated scraping, or uploading malicious files.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
